Hyperconverged System solutions and their Benefits

By implementing a hyperconverged infrastructure, companies can benefit from different system strengths:

  • Cost advantages thanks to hyper-convergence Compared to traditional virtualization solutions in conjunction with storage servers or clusters, a hyperconverged infrastructure is significantly less expensive.

    Many virtualization solutions now offer the inherent ability to form on-host storage clusters, eliminating the need for expensive external SAN hardware.

HCI: Infrastructure for Hyperconverged Systems

Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct - S2D 
In the Data Centre editions of the current Windows servers, Microsoft also took a hyperconverged storage approach by integrating the option for creating storage pools across hosts. With automatic tiering and caching on low latency NVMe Drives, Hyper-V with Storage Spaces Direct is a cost-effective alternative for hyperconverged virtualization clusters.
