Supermicro's new system brings maximum performance, high efficiency and great flexibility and is designed for cloud, big data, enterprise, hyper-converged and IoT workloads. The range of applications extends from HPC and compute-intensive applications to data center server systems, hyperscale and hyperconvergent systems.

The BigTwin is the first All-Flash NVMe Multi-Node system and deploys with a multitude of convincing innovations and industry novelties as well as outstanding performance features:

• Best performance and highest efficiency in a 2HE 4 Node System or a 2HE 2 Node Syste
• The first multi-node system to support the largest TDP range of CPUs (up to 205W) and make full use of all memory channels with 24 DIMMS per node and 24 AllFlash NVMe drives.

• Doubling of I/O capacity
• Over 10 network options including 1G, 10G, 25G, 100G, IB
• Unique SIOM option for full flexibility in network interface selection
• Each node supports current and Next Generation Dual Intel Xeon processors with up to 3TB of RAM

The 24 DIMM slots of the BigTwin are a novelty in the field of multi-node dual-processor systems. Competing high performance systems are typically only equipped with up to 16 DIMM slots per node, this means a fully balanced storage configuration is not possible at maximum storage capacity. The additional slots allow you to purchase lower-cost, lower-capacity DIMMs that deliver a better GB to GBP ratio.

The latest generation of Supermicro BigTwin servers

The BigTwin X11 is a 2U server configuration that supports four compute nodes. Each of the four nodes supports the following functions:

• 24 DIMMs with ECC DDR4-2666MHz and higher for up to 3 TB of RAM
• SIOM additional cards with Quad / Dual 1GbE, Quad / Dual 10GbE / 10G SFP +, Dual 25G, 100G, FDR or EDR InfiniBand options
