- Access and monitoring tailored to your needs: Supermicro Server Manager offers multiple ways to access system data. Use the REST API, the web interface, or the proven command-line interface (CLI).
- Support for Windows and Linux: For efficient monitoring and server management, SSM can be deployed on Windows as well as on various Linux distributions (SLES, RHEL, CentOS).
- Insights into server health and status: By default, Supermicro Server Manager collects data on the current status and operational health of your servers. Via the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) or Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), you gain access to a wide range of parameters, including current temperature, fan speed, voltage levels, power consumption, and more.
- BIOS and firmware update management: Using the Supermicro Update Manager (SUM), Supermicro Server Manager can regularly provide critical updates for both server BIOS and IPMI firmware.
- Use of ISO images: For server installations or maintenance tasks, Supermicro Server Manager supports the use of ISO images. In addition, SSM enables remote server access via VNC.
- Log management: Supermicro Server Manager logs all activities on your servers, regularly checks their availability, and can automatically export results according to your specifications.
- Power and energy consumption: SSM gives you continuous insight into how much power each server consumes. You can also define individual power rules for specific servers. Via remote access, Supermicro Server Manager allows you to power systems on or off or initiate restarts.
- Email notifications: You can receive both regular reports and immediate alerts or error messages via email. For additional support, the “Call Home” feature is available: when required, SSM automatically generates tickets for the Supermicro service team, which then works with you to resolve the issue. (Please note that an additional license is required for this service feature.)
